Salzburg has gained a new landmark. At the heart of the entire development is the 47-meter-high tower. Its appearance is dominated by a transparent glass façade, giving it an airy look. At the same time, it is also functionally impressive: thanks to the double-shell construction – behind the glass façade there is a concrete façade – all windows can be opened. This is otherwise not possible in high-rise buildings. The building’s climate is regulated using the latest technology. So-called cooling ceilings ensure a comfortable room temperature. Tubes are embedded in the concrete elements through which water is pumped. The result: a natural indoor climate that provides pleasant temperatures even on hot days, entirely without CO2-emitting air conditioning systems.

A 12-story new building for 480 employees and around 2,000 customers daily replaced five SGKK locations in the city of Salzburg, most notably the old main site on Faberstraße. The construction cost 43.4 million euros. Key features of the new eye-catcher at the train station include 6,000 square meters of glass, 2,500 kilometers of laid cables, and 30,000 tons of concrete used.
