Single-family house, Gümligen

The house is located on a gentle slope with a view of the Bernese Oberland Alps. The residential floor is accessed at street level. The garden level accommodates the bedrooms with direct views of the swimming pool. Two interlocking L-shaped exposed concrete arches define the façade. Wall panels, whose position, sequence, and layering determine the interior design. Floor-to-ceiling glazing and long covered terraces connect the interior and exterior spaces. The large interior rooms emphasize the contrast between the massive concrete walls and the visual lightness of the glass.
