Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln

The German Sport University Cologne states that it is Germany’s only university dedicated exclusively to sports sciences and the largest of its kind in Europe. Located in the middle of Cologne’s green belt and embedded in the sports infrastructure of the Sportpark Müngersdorf, it offers around 5,500 students from 50 countries space for research in 21 scientific institutes as well as several additional research centers.

The campus includes not only institute buildings but also sports halls, lecture hall buildings, outdoor sports facilities, and student residences. The university—often referred to as “SpoHo” Cologne—considers itself a leading institution in sports science both nationally and internationally.
