Kv. Hörnan

A distinctive façade design shaping a modern landmark in Solna

The idea with Kv. Hörnan was to create a representative and characteristic office building with open and flexible surfaces that offer the latest technology. The overall design idea is to give the facades a uniform expression with some variation that highlights the relatively complex building volume.

The facades, customized WICTEC EL Evo, are made up of strong horizons that sweep around the entire building. The contrasting vertical partition between them is varied between floors which further enhances the horizontal. The floor-high prefabricated modules are attached to the floor joists. In the façade, the joists are marked with a dark gray matt plate profile. Vertical elements are covered with a glass profile.

Kv. Hörnan is located in the area that previously housed the famous Råsunda football stadium in Solna. The building has the BREEAM-SE Very Good certification.
