Ulrich Sieberath, head of the ift, personally handed over the certificate for WICTEC 50HI as the first „passive house aluminium facade system according to ift directive RI WA 15/1“ to Richard Weiß, head of the product management.
This certificate proves that the curtain wall system WICTEC 50HI achieves U-values of less than Uf < 0,8 W/m²K, the limits required for passive houses. On top of that it also attests that the system meets all requirements of the CE labelling and all criteria for the utilization in the system and the building connections.
The most important features of a passive house construction are the performance of the thermal insulation as well as the creation of an airtight building envelope. WICTEC offers both, and this with only a minimum of additional cost, as the base remains the standard application of WICTEC 50. Simply by adding an insulation profile in the rebate area the Uf value is improved to 0,74 W/m²K acc. EN ISO 10077. The compatibility of the system as a part of the WICONA Unisys concept allows for this optimization in a simple and safe way.
