Technology

pucePierre Philippe states "the Wicona range is very popular as it allows architects to create beautiful facades of a very high technical quality. Wicona provides the technology to support the creative ideas of architects. It offers manufacturers a range of technical solutions to facilitate project planning and execution."

puceArchitects' projects are conceived very early on in the process, often at the outline stage, to select the best architectural solution for the facade designed by the designer.

puceOlivier Pagnoux and Pierre Phlilippe deal very efficiently with requests from professionals in a region that they know like the back of their hands.

puceHydro has been present in the region for a number of years and formed a 50/50 partnership with Qatar Petroleum in 2007. Two years later, the Qatalum factory was built in Mesaieed, near Doha, dedicated to the production of primary aluminium rods. "Extrusion is carried out in Oman by the company Napco and accessories and gaskets are produced in Europe" specifies Pierre Philippe.

puceWicona's customers include Glassline Industries in Beirut, Glassline Alu in Abu Dhabi, Egybel in Qatar and in Cairo, Alunasa in Qatar and in the UAE, Horizon in Amman (Jordan) and Hassan Abul in Kuwait.

Glassline Industries has been a Wicona customer for many years and is responsible for 50% of projects in Lebanon. Glassline has been co-founded and is co-managed by Makram Rishani and Mazen Rishani. They work on stunning projects with sales and technical teams, such as the headquarters of the CMA CGM maritime company in Beirut. For this Wicona project, a custom-designed profile was created, inspired by the Wictec 50EL facade.

WICTEC 50 EL: 4,500 m²

puceThe 6500sqm CMA-CGM headquarters, designed by talented architect Nabil Gholam, comprises three glass blocks interconnected by an atrium that covers the entire height.

puceThe 4500sqm of double-skinned facade were manufactured using a custom designed profile created by Wicona for this project, inspired by WICTEC EL system elements. This construction system involves manufacturing and glazing each part of the facade at the workshop. This facilitates project planning and speeds up progress at the building site. Natural ventilation is provided by the rotation of stainless steel running strip blades that also serve as a brise-soleil.
