WICONA has captured nice recognition for the design of its stand at BAU 2009 in Munich.
WICONA's stand is featured in Messedesign Jahrbuch 2009/2010, which presents some of the "most attractive and most innovative trade fair stands" in German-speaking countries.
"What a positive surprise," says Arnd Brinkmann, who leads the business sector's Germany + organization. "We all liked the stand, but this recognition is simply great."
WICONA has four full pages dedicated to its stand concept in the trade fair design yearbook, which also includes stands from companies like Mercedes-Benz, Osram and Siemens.
Here`s how the yearbook describes the WICONA stand:
"From the outside, the WICONA stand is almost a little off-putting: Only a few, narrow paths lead between closed structures of different sizes into the interior of the stand. But the bright red that can be espied through these openings arouses the curiosity of the beholder and invites him to explore what is going on inside. Narrow, ramp-like entrances guide the visitor to a kind of piazza with all the buzz of a city square. All the functional areas of the trade fair stand – consultation room, restaurant and bar zone, demonstration room and various areas for product presentations – are grouped like buildings round the piazza; in the centre, the main welcome counter is reminiscent of a market stand. The red colour and the generous open space in the interior create an island far away from the hustle and bustle of the trade fair hall. The associations to a built-up urban environment go well with the exhibitor, a manufacturer of façade systems."
