WICONA at BAU - 2017

Double-digit increase in visitor numbers, top innovations, delighted customers

BAU 2017 has proven itself to be the ideal arena for WICONA's stated motto for this year, 'Building the city of the future together'. 'Together' can be taken literally, as architects, planners and fabricators ensured that the exhibition stand was almost permanently 'booked out', all showing great interest in the numerous WICONA innovations on display.

This can also be seen from the impressive visitor numbers: Once again, approximately 250,000 exhibition visitors from all around the world made the journey to Munich (2015: 250,000 visitors). Compared with BAU two years ago, the visitor numbers on the WICONA stand were up by 16%! With more than 65,000 visitors from architecture and planning offices, BAU managed yet again to solidify its reputation as a trade fair for architects. The 1,370 visitors from this target group at the WICONA exhibition stand, however, meant an impressive increase of 47% (!) compared with 2015. "So we not only achieved one of our key exhibition goals, but significantly exceeded it", concluded Henri Gomez, VP Business Unit DACH & WICONA Brandhouse owner.

However it was not just about quantity; the quality was right and convinced the WICONA exhibition visitors all round. Visitors were impressed with the exhibition stand and with the innovations that WICONA presented for the 'city of the future'. Today, more than half of people live in towns or cities. And urbanisation is continuing at a fast pace. To make urban agglomerations worth living in, protection from noise and emissions, security and an adequate supply of daylight, as well as thermal insulation, must also be ensured. Under the motto 'Building the city of the future together', WICONA has successfully proven how these challenges can be overcome, thanks to intelligent window, door and façade concepts.

Amongst the highlights for visitors were the WICTEC 50 evo Design Collection, particularly the WICTEC evo Design façade, the WICTEC Modul air façade (Closed Cavity Façade technology), the WICLINE 115 AFS composite window and the WICSLIDE 75FD folding sliding door system, in addition to exciting project solutions like for the Newfoundland Tower in London. "With these innovations, we are able to bring the goal of 'building the city of the future together' with our customers a whole lot closer", stated Henri Gomez confidently.
