Facade revitalisation in practice
The construction sector still accounts for 39% of global CO2 emissions. With climate change, a growing global population, and increased urbanisation, energy- and resource-saving concepts are more important than ever. Aluminium plays an important role here thanks to its infinite recyclability.
True circular economy
A functioning circular economy is required in order to cope with resource scarcity and the need to reduce CO2 emissions and prevent waste. New paths must be taken for this – moving away from the linear economy towards circular construction. With our system solutions made from Hydro CIRCAL and our 75/95 concept, we are already making a significant contribution to a true circular economy.
Hydro CIRCAL
With Hydro CIRCAL, WICONA is the first provider on the market to offer an aluminium alloy that consists of at least 75% end-of-life aluminium, thereby conserving resources and reducing CO2 emissions. This makes us pioneers on the path to a true circular economy.

ORAÉ® - Redefining sustainability: The world's first CO2-reduced glass combines the best coatings in its class. The name is derived from the Horae of Greek mythology, symbolising the change of seasons and time. Saint-Gobain Glass views ORAÉ® as a pioneer for a sustainable future, a step into a new era.

Sustainability doesn't stop at aluminium. Our innovative 75/95 concept means that our new series are made from 75% recycled and 95% recyclable materials. We are increasingly using end-of-life scrap materials for components such as polyamide and EPDM, actively contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions.

Together with its partners WICONA and Saint Gobain, Christophe Lenderoth GmbH has completely revitalised the façade of its administrative building in Bremen. The aluminium/glass façade was dismantled, recycled and reassembled. This pioneering project, the sole one of its kind in Germany to date, resulted in the conservation of 24.6 tonnes of CO2 through the use of Hydro CIRCAL 100R and the CO2-reduced glass ORAÉ--a prime example of a circular economy.
