PROJECT DETAILS
A New Landmark at the Edge of the Forest
Located at the entrance to the town of Viroflay and bordering the Meudon state forest, the new Centre Aquatique des Bertisettes is a bold and innovative project. Spanning 4,600 m² over two levels (ground floor + 1), the centre features a ground-floor lobby, changing rooms, and three pools dedicated to competition, learning, and leisure. On the first floor, visitors will find a balneotherapy and relaxation area, as well as staff-only zones.
The building opens generously onto the surrounding landscape and benefits from ample natural light, while achieving strong energy efficiency through reinforced thermal insulation, rooftop solar panels, and energy recovery systems.
WICONA Solutions: Tailored Performance Across the Façade
The MECANO façade system has been applied across numerous curtain walls, notably on the entire north façade and around the pools. The same solution is used for the large window openings on the upper level. In the relaxation areas, framed in metal cladding, these openings are realised using high-insulation WICLINE 65 HI frames.
The WICLINE 65 HI system also features on the terrace-facing façades, incorporating WICSTYLE 65 doors and openable units for the west-facing offices. Lastly, two fire-rated partitions — including one with a door — separating the entrance lobby from the pool hall have been built using the WICSTYLE 77 FP system, rated for 30 minutes fire resistance (EI30).
